No alarm clock. We slept till my little prince woke us up at 9am and went for our first food hunt.
First Stop: Kedai Kopi Sin Yoon Loong
This coffee shop is located at the Old Town of Ipoh. There are many coffee shops with the similar name (just one word different or 1 alphabet different). So, look carefully before you walked in. Dear hubby almost walked into the wrong coffee shop.
They had the BEST coffee that we have ever tasted! It tasted so nice that we went back the 2nd time the next day especially for the coffee and toast. The coffee shop is always very crowded, so we waited quite sometimes before we managed to find a table.
We ordered our usual coffee and toast, while dear hb ordered some roast pork and yong tao foo from the stall in the same coffee shop. Don't think the roast pork tastes very nice, but the yong tao foo is quite nice.

My little prince has his usual milo kosong and a cupcake..He enjoyed it very much.
Hb wanted to try out the Original Old Town Coffee (Nam Heong) which is located just opposite Sin Yoon Loong, but I was too full to continue eating. Thus, we decided to go back to hotel to rest. I surf my internet, dear hb read his newspaper while our little boy played with us from time to time..
Time checked..12 noon...we decided to go out for our lunch. knowing the location and where to park, we found the place pretty quickly. If you have been to the Old Town white coffee in Singapore, you will find the food served in Ipoh very similar! As usual, we ordered coffee, toast, ipoh chicken Hor Fun, and chay kway tiao to share, and not forgetting a milo kosong for our little boy. We also ordered egg tarts from the tim sum stalls, and it tasted soooo niceeee!!! Until we ordered again!! The coffee is nothing compared to Sin Yoon Loong, but the kaya butter bread tasted much better. Hb and I were thinking whether can we taboo coffee from Sin Yoon Loong to come here to eat as we love the ipoh Hor Fun and chay kway tiao too!!!

After a heavy lunch, we decided to burn some calories and went to visit the Perak Tong. It is one of the cave temples in Perak. We might have climbed hundreds of steps to reach the top of hill. Bravo to my little prince who didn't ask us to carry him and instead walk up and down the steps on his own!

What's next after some sight seeing? It's food hunting again, we went around trying to find a cendol store that was so small that we must have miss it a few times during searching. Verdict of the cendol: rather special, but we might not return as we had found a better cendol place on the last day of our trip!
Up next, we went to search for the famous salted chicken for our tea-break! The store is pretty easy to find. This must be one of the best salted chicken that we had eaten! We love that it is cooked with dang gui (a chinese herbs) and its not so salty. We actually bought the chicken back to the hotel and ate it slowly while our little boy had his much needed afternoon nap. In fact, we loved it so much that we went back the next day to tabao it again so that we can have it during our drive back to Singapore..:)
Aun Kheng Lim Salted Chicken
No. 24, Jalan Theatre, 30300 Ipoh, Perak. Sylvan woke up at 7pm and we decided to went to search for the famous bean sprouts chicken. It was located very near to the salted chicken location, and we had earlier seen it. Thus, it was very easy for us to reach there. As usual, the place was very crowded with lots of people waiting for others to finish their food so that they can have a seat. We were very lucky to find a place very quickly!
We ordered half a chicken, a plate of bean sprouts, a plate of chicken rice and a bowl of Hor Fun to share. I must say that we loved every single dishes that we ordered! So yummy that we finished everything up!
